Rennie Harris University is proud to honor the extraordinary life and legacy of Don “Campbellock” Campbell with a prestigious scholarship supporting dedicated students pursuing excellence in Hip-Hop and House dance. As the creator of the Campbellock—now known worldwide as Locking—Campbell transformed street dance and inspired generations of artists to embrace creativity, individuality, and cultural knowledge. The scholarship covers tuition for RHU’s comprehensive 5E Knowledge Lecture Series and winter, spring, and summer Cypher sessions, while also providing support for flights, housing, and a daily $25 per diem during the Cypher Intensive. Applicants must have at least 300 hours of prior dance training or professional experience and apply for RHU’s Certificate 1 Level program. Recipients will participate in lectures, research, classes, teaching assistantships, documented practice, and Cypher Intensives while completing an original curriculum, competing in an official dance battle, and submitting a final essay on a street-dance topic. Through this scholarship, Don Campbell’s groundbreaking contributions will continue to be studied, celebrated, and carried forward.
