Rennie Harris University proudly honors the extraordinary life and legacy of Monica Campbell (1977–2026) through the Monica Campbell Scholarship, supporting dedicated students pursuing excellence in Hip-Hop and House dance. A world-class performer, choreographer, educator, and advocate, Monica danced internationally with Diavolo—Architecture in Motion, served as Rehearsal Director and Associate Artistic Director, and later became a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Dance at Utah Valley University. Despite her many accomplishments, Monica remained a devoted student, spending her 2024 sabbatical studying Hip-Hop and street dance at Rennie Harris University. The scholarship continues her commitment to education, artistic exploration, and lifelong learning by covering tuition for RHU’s comprehensive 5E Knowledge Lecture Series and winter, spring, and summer Cypher sessions, while also providing support for flights, housing, and a daily $25 per diem during the Cypher Intensive. Applicants must have at least 300 hours of prior dance training or professional experience and apply for RHU’s Certificate 1 Level program. Through this scholarship, Monica’s passion, discipline, joyful spirit, and dedication to using movement as a tool for education and social change will continue to inspire future generations of artists.
