
Rennie Harris University Monica Campbell Full RHU Scholarship
The Rennie Harris University Monica Campbell Scholarship is a prestigious full scholarship designed to support dedicated students in their pursuit of excellence in the study of hip-hop, and house dance styles. This scholarship covers all tuition fees for the comprehensive 5E Knowledge Lecture Series, as well as the Cypher sessions during the winter, spring, and summer intensive periods.
In addition to tuition, the Monica Campbell Scholarship provides financial support for flights, housing, and a daily per diem of $25 for the duration of the Cypher Intensive. Recipients of this scholarship are required to submit an application for the Certificate 1 Level (see C1).
To qualify for the Monica Campbell Scholarship, applicants must possess a minimum of 300 hours of prerequisite training, which can be a combination of professional experience and student training in Hip-hop, and house dance. Scholarship recipients are also expected to complete a total of 1,000 hours of work which is inclusive of 600 hours comprised of a mix of lecture research, teaching assistantship, in-person classes, and approved off-campus classes. An additional 100 hours of practice must be documented and submitted through the designated platform.
l In addition recipient must attend all components of the lecture series, engage with all asynchronous lectures, and participate fully in the Cypher Intensive program. The recipient will be allowed 2 absences per semester; any additional absences may lead to the loss of their scholarship.
Beyond these requirements, recipients will be tasked with creating a unique curriculum, competing in an official battle of any dance style, and submitting a final essay of 1,500 words on a topic related to street dance of their choosing.
